New York Hotel Deals – Tips for planning your next New York trip and booking a hotel

Planning a trip to NY? Going to the Big Apple or spending time traveling around the country? Whatever your travel plans, it's important to use the internet search tools to find hotel deals in New York. Unfortunately, one thing NY is unknown for is cheap hotels. That doesn't mean you can't find a good deal on one, or at least find a cheap one out of town.

If you already have a specific area in mind, check out all the hotels and guesthouses in that location. The more flexible you are with dates, the better your chance of getting a low rate. If you absolutely must travel on a specific date, consider other factors instead of just the price. For example, how close do you want to stay to the airport or Grand Central and Penn stations? Do you feel uncomfortable thinking about a subway or a bus but don't have that much money to spend a lot of money on a taxi? If this is the case, then it is probably in your best interest to narrow your search to a relatively easy and fast location, not just from the airport or station – but from any landmark you want to see.

Although Midtown is an ideal destination for most tourists who want to be close to the best fun and shopping in NYC, hotels are not the cheapest. Big names like Crowne Plaza Time Square, Hilton, Sofitel and Marriott Marquis are here. It's worth staying in any of these if you want to be in the middle of the whole action. If you want to get the lowest rate possible, wait until January (after New Year's) and February (except Valentine's Day). These are usually the cheapest months to visit Manhattan.

Take advantage of transportation options for better deals on New York

If you are sure you won't get lost and don't mind taking a sub, then you might want to look for areas other than Manhattan for New York hotel deals. What about a two or three star hotel on Staten Island? The Bronx? Queen? Brooklyn? September is usually a cheap month to stay in Staten Island. Don't be afraid to try hostels or lesser-known guesthouses. Because you will spend so much time out of town, all you need is a warm, clean bed and a bathroom in a safe neighborhood.

As for other parts of the state, Albany and Rochester offer really good hotel deals in New York – especially the latter. Depending on where you book your room, find hotels in Niagara Falls for less than $ 110.

Best Western Gregory Hotel in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn

Bay Ridge, Brooklyn may not be the fastest part of New York, but it has its charms and is very safe. If you want to stay in New York but don't want to break the bank and want to see how "normal" people live day to day, then the Best Western Gregory Hotel in Bay Ridge is a great place to stay.

This hotel is located on Fourth Avenue between 83rd and 84th Streets. This means that it is only a few blocks away from busy shopping space. Yes, except for Manhattan, there are places to shop!

By NYC standards, the rooms are very affordable. I actually just checked the rates and the rooms are available for $ 160 per night. You would easily spend it twice in Manhattan, and they would call it a great deal!

As someone who knows the Bay Ridge area well, I have to say that my favorite neighborhood thing is food. There are really great restaurants with two of my favorites: the Taj Mahal Indian Restaurant located at 7315 3rd avenue and the Pho Hoai Vietnamese restaurant located at 8616 Fourth Avenue.

If you enjoy Indian and Vietnamese food, you will probably love these restaurants as much as I do. And if you don't like Indian and Vietnamese food, then you probably haven't given it much. Stop eating at Applebee's and try real food for a change!
